WHY ATTEND
This training will help to examine the practical implications of the regulatory framework and assist you in considering how best to manage Compliance Monitoring within your firm.
Attendees will complete a series of exercises within groups that will provide fresh ways of assessing their compliance monitoring activities, structure and programmes. Using the knowledge and insight gained in this course, attendees can critically evaluate the robustness of their current arrangements and identify areas that may be strengthened.
The course is pitched at a New to Role / Refresher level. It is likely less valuable for experienced staff in larger firms with more established or mature compliance monitoring functions and dedicated monitoring personnel.

SPEAKERS
Patrick Girling BA and CRIM Associate
Patrick Girling is an experienced risk, compliance, and governance practitioner. Patrick has worked in Financial Services for over 25 years. Before setting up his own consultancy Patrick was Group Risk Director at Royal London Mutual Insurance. In permanent employment Patrick held regulatory positions responsible for risk, compliance and audit.
Since leaving the corporate world Patrick has supported businesses and Boards to develop appropriate risk and compliance frameworks as well as developing comprehensive approaches to governance and also served as Non-Executive Director where he chaired the Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee.
Patrick is member of the Institute of Risk Management and has been a speaker at ILAG and business sponsored events.
