Gillian Painter, Head of Membership and Engine, The Investment Association

As Head of Membership and Engine, Gillian is a senior member of the IA Enterprises management team. Engine is the IA’s Innovation hub and FinTech accelerator. Since its launch in October 2019, Gillian has managed the growth of Engine which now encompasses an ecosystem of over 130 firms, innovator programmes, as well as a regional co-working hub in Birmingham and an international programme. Engine is focused on innovation and transformation for the investment management and wealth sectors providing an extensive programme of thought leadership, resources and connectivity. Gillian has a strong experience in technology having worked in technical and operational roles for global IT and telecom firms.

Dr. Chlump Chatkupt, Founder and CEO, PLACEMAKE.IO.

Chlump has over 19 years of experience in developing artificial intelligence and novel mathematical and technological solutions to a number of problems. His current goal is to revolutionize the world of location and mobility.

Prior to founding PLACEMAKE.IO, Chlump was a mathematics researcher at the London School of Economics and Political Science, a strategic advisor to Abbott Laboratories, and the founder of an economic consulting firm.

Chlump has written widely on a variety of subjects from mathematics to multilateral refugee and asylum policy and has won a number of academic and professional prizes for his work.

Chlump holds a PhD in Mathematics from the London School of Economics and Political Science, an MA in Philosophy from New York University, and a BA in Economics from Northwestern University.

Mark Lewis, Senior Consultant - Commercial Practice, Macfarlanes LLP

Mark represents customer- and supply-side clients in all forms of information technology, business process and operations sourcing and outsourcing transactions.
He advises on the deployment of advanced technologies and related business models, including cloud computing, digitalisation, blockchain, artificial intelligence and robotic process automation. He also advises on cyber-related issues.
For over 30 years, and recognised in the market as one of the UK’s leading practitioners, Mark has specialised in transactions for, and advice on, the acquisition and use of IT products, systems and services and business process services, including all forms of outsourcing and managed and shared services transactions. Many of them are mission- or business-critical for his clients.
Much of his IT and outsourcing work is in the financial services sector. His clients have included global, FTSE and challenger financial services firms and fintech providers in the banking, insurance and asset management industries.
In all the sectors he covers, Mark has represented a broad range of IT and business process service providers, from the largest globally to early-stage niche technology companies.
Mark is a Visiting Professor in Practice in the Department of Law of the London School of Economics & Political Science, where he focuses on advanced technologies in the context of law, regulation, business and society.

Da Wei, Founder & CEO, Orbit Financial Technology 

Da has 18 years of experience in software and consulting in the financial industry, and worked for a number software companies and financial clients. Da holds degrees in computer science and finance, is CFA and FRM qualified, and leads Orbit’s overall product development. Da will supervise the project and advice on scoping, phasing and best practice.

Alessandro Recino, Principal Technology Specialist, Microsoft

Alessandro Recino is a Principal Technology Specialist on Advanced Analytics and Artificial Intelligence.
He currently works with a Digital Native and scale-up global team at Microsoft focusing on bledeing edge machine learnig and AI projects.
