IA Webinar: Trump, "Growth", and the UK-U.S. Investment Management Agenda

Description

Join the IA’s Head of Investment and Trade, Richard Normington and the U.S. Chamber’s Kristen Malinconico as they discuss the outlook for the U.S., for UK-U.S. relations, and the implications for the investment management industry of a key month in Washington D.C.

This July is expected to bring the passage of the One Big Beautiful Bill—a federal regulatory framework for stablecoins—the negotiation and announcement of the next stage of the 'Liberation Day' tariffs, and reports from various task forces and policy groups concerning the digital, crypto, and FinTech agendas. All of this comes on top of landmark decisions by the U.S. Supreme Court.

We will also have had the further staffing-up of government departments and regulators at the mid-to-senior level by political appointees, enabling the administration to give further direction to its day-to-day agenda in Washington, D.C

Coming after UK Chancellor’s Mansion House speech on the Financial Services Growth and Competitiveness Strategy, Kristen, Senior Director at the Centre for Capital Markets Competitiveness, and Richard, Head of Trade & Investment for the IA, will compare, contrast, and guide IA members through the growth agendas championed U.S. and UK governments.

We will also cover:

· Prospects for the forthcoming Trump visit to the UK

· Next steps for the SEC and cross-border regulation

· Issues and elections to watch in the last half of the year
