IA Webinar: Enhancing Transparency: Latest Developments in the Vote Reporting Group

Description

.

WHY ATTEND

The Vote Reporting Group, of which the IA and several of our member firms are members, was set up in November 2022 to develop detailed proposals to enhance shareholder vote reporting by asset managers operating in the UK. The aim was to design a comprehensive and standardised vote reporting framework; the Group extensively consulted on a proposed framework in summer 2023 and has had several additional bi-lateral discussions with different interested groups over 2024. The Group intends to publish a Feedback Statement in spring 2025, this will include the agreed vote reporting template, a summary of the consultation responses and the intended direction of travel. The group has agreed for the Pensions and Lifetime Savings Association (PLSA) to own the template. The aim is to have the template operational and ready for firms to use in early 2026.

Ahead of the publication of the final framework, the co- Chairs of the Group, Shipra Gupta (Scottish Widows) and Caroline Escott (Railpen), and the FCA will update members on the Vote Reporting Group's work, the outcomes of the consultation and key decisions the Group has taken on the future of the framework. There will also be an opportunity for members to ask questions.
