Galina Dimitrova, Director - Investment and Capital Markets, The Investment Association
Galina is a Director of Investment & Capital Markets at the Investment Association (the “IA”) and a member of the IA Executive Committee.

In her role, she has overall responsibility for the IA’s work on investments and capital markets, including representing investors' interests in the efficient functioning of markets and quality of asset classes, such as Equity, Fixed-income, FX, Infrastructure, and Private Markets. She also has oversight of all IA Special Committees and ETFs, as well as all trading, market infrastructure and investment operations’ matters relevant to IA members.

Central to her portfolio is helping members with the evolving Sustainability & Responsible Investment landscape, including the growth of responsible investment products and strategies, our clients’ changing preference and working together towards an economy, society and planet fit for the future.

Prior to joining the IA in 2014, Galina worked in the investment banking industry and has over 10 years’ experience advising financial institutions across the world on M&A, capital raisings and restructurings, with a particular focus on emerging markets.

Galina sits on the Bank of England FX Joint Standing Committee and TheCityUK Board of Directors. She is also a member of the UK Risk Free Rate Working Group and the FCA’s Disclosures & Labels Advisory Group.

Nasreen Kasenally, UK CEO Asset Management, UBS Asset Management
Nasreen was appointed COO and Country Head in May 2023 and is responsible for all global AM business support functions for the division and for overseeing all AM business conducted in the UK. Since joining UBS in 1999 she has held various senior risk roles across the firm.

Amanda Young, Chief Sustainability Officer, abrdn
Amanda is the Chief Sustainability Officer for the Investments business at abrdn, where she leads the sustainable investment strategy for the firm and the Investment Sustainability Group.  She has over two decades of experience in responsible investment.   Previously, Amanda held positions at Newton Investment Management, CCLA Investment Management and Rabobank International.  Amanda graduated from Lancaster University with a BSc in Psychology and has completed the University of Edinburgh Business School’s Executive Women’s Leadership Programme.   She is the Chair of the Sustainability and Responsible Investment Committee of the Investment Association, a board director for Social Investment Scotland’s SIS Ventures fund and represents abrdn on the Scottish Taskforce for Green and Sustainable Financial Services.  Previous appointments include Chair, workstream for the UK Government’s Taskforce on social impact investment, co-Chair of the Scottish Purposeful Business Commission, Board Director of the UK Sustainable Investment and Finance Association (UKSIF) and Chair of the FTSE Russell ESG Advisory Committee.  Amanda has appeared on the Financial News top 100 most influential women in European Finance for 6 years.  She was the inaugural winner of Women in Investment Awards Sustainable & ESG Investment Woman of the Year in 2021 and was on Financial News’ inaugural Fifty Most Influential in Sustainable Finance list in 2022.

Ian Simm, Founder & CEO, Impax Asset Management
Ian Simm is the Founder and Chief Executive of Impax Asset Management Group plc, one of the world’s leading investment managers dedicated to investing in the transition to a more sustainable economy. Prior to Impax, Ian was an engagement manager at McKinsey & Company advising clients on environmental strategy.

Outside Impax, Ian is a member of the UK government’s Net Zero Innovation Board, which provides strategic oversight of public sector funding of energy innovation programmes and is a board member of the Institutional Investors Group on Climate Change, the European membership body for investor collaboration on addressing climate change. He is also a commissioner with the Energy Transitions Commission, a global coalition of leaders developing transition roadmaps to achieve net-zero emissions. Between 2013 and 2018, he was a board member of the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC), the UK’s leading funding agency for environmental science. He supports charities in the clean energy, healthcare and a range of scientific and environmental sectors.

Ian has a first-class honours degree in physics from Cambridge University and a Master’s in Public Administration from Harvard University. In the last century he initiated and led an expedition to complete the first summer crossing of the Sahara Desert by tandem bicycle.

Marcello Arona, CEO, AXA Investment Managers
Marcello Arona joined AXA IM in 2005 as the Chief Financial Officer of AXA IM Italia SIM. He moved to the US, as US CFO of AXA IM in 2013, where he was Head of Americas, leading the distribution team in the Region and coordinating the support functions. He joined the UK team as CEO in April 2021. Marcello is also a director of the Investment Association Board. Prior to joining AXA IM, Marcello spent five years in the private banking division of HSBC in Italy where he served as CFO and COO. His professional career also includes past roles as Senior Auditor at PWC, in the team dedicated to financial intermediaries. Marcello graduated in Economics at Universita’ di Pavia in Italy.

Nick Dymond, Head of Index Equity Portfolio Management - EMEA, Northern Trust Asset Management
Nicholas is the Head of Index Equity Portfolio Management, EMEA at Northern Trust and is responsible for overseeing approximately $100bn of index equity assets across pooled funds and separately managed accounts. Approximately 80% of the assets have some level of ESG alignment ranging from simple negative screening through to more complex solutions incorporating integration and targeted outcomes. He has been managing ESG customised index equity strategies for over a decade including some of the largest ESG pooled funds in the EMEA market place. He is part of the EMEA Executive Management Team and a voting member across a number of committees, including the EMEA Business Risk Committee and Commissions and Trading Committee.
Nicholas joined Northern Trust in 2006 as a Portfolio Manager responsible for the management of a variety of index equity portfolios for large institutional clients, sub-advisory clients, and index funds, as well as joint responsibility for the management of several global enhanced equity mandates. Prior to joining Northern Trust, Nicholas was at State Street Global Advisors, initially in the operations department focusing on Risk Control and Transitions. He joined their global structured products group in 2002 where he was primarily responsible for the management of index equity portfolios and asset allocation across their pooled funds range.

Phil Spyropoulos, Partner, Eversheds Sutherland
Phil advises financial institutions on regulation, market practice, and developments relating to investment funds, UK and EU regulatory initiatives and commercial agreements.

As a Partner, Phil draws on his extensive experience working with open-ended and retail investment fund structures and the managers and service providers to those structures. Clients value his regulatory knowledge and insights into the practical aspects of fund operations.

Phil works extensively on investor disclosure which also sees him advising on the implementation of forthcoming regulatory initiatives, particularly in the areas of ESG and sustainable/responsible investing where he is regularly involved in industry thought leadership.

Michaela Walker, Partner & Product Group Head, Eversheds Sutherland
Michaela is a financial services lawyer and advises fund managers on the establishment of authorised funds and advises a broad range of financial institutions. These include asset managers, depositaries and custodians on financial services regulation, including in relation to ESG and sustainability.

Michaela is the Product Group Head of the Eversheds Sutherland financial services team and heads the Financial Services sector in Europe. She has advised financial institutions on a wide range of financial services issues since she qualified in 1994.

She has more than 25 years’ experience of advising leading asset managers, depositaries, custodians, administrators and other service providers, charities, pension schemes and other financial institutions on regulatory and product-related work.

She regularly advises clients in the structuring and establishment of investment funds — both onshore and offshore — and regarding issues arising in the life cycle of a fund, including mergers, changes to investment strategy and service providers.

Her practice includes advising on the various relevant regulatory changes, including in recent times, the impact of ESG and sustainability factors on funds and fund managers.

Carol Thomas, Head of Sustainability and Responsible Investment, The Investment Association
Carol started her career in EU regulatory affairs in Brussels before joining the FSA in 2010. Carol’s work at the FSA/FCA spanned pension policy, financial disclosure and leading on life insurance thematic reviews. She also spent a year working for the Irish Department of Finance in Brussels covering financial services files in the European Council. In 2018, Carol joined the Investment Association as a Retail Markets Specialist covering all issues related to the regulation and distribution of retail funds in the UK and across the EU. Following a short period as Head of Asset Management Policy for M&G, Carol re-joined the IA and was appointed Head of Sustainability and Responsible Investment, leading on the full range of sustainability & responsible Investment issues impacting investment management industry today.

Amanda Latham, Director - Sustainable Investment, IFM Investors and Representing the Taskforce on Social Factors
Amanda Latham is a Director in the Sustainable Investment team at IFM Investors. In her role, Amanda leads on development and implementation of IFM Investors’ sustainable investment strategy across UK and EU, working with the investment teams to deliver for clients and stakeholders. She has extensive experience embedding sustainability across organisations and for clients and was previously responsible for policy and strategy at Barnett Waddingham. Formerly at The Pensions Regulator (TPR) for most of a decade, Amanda worked across a number of policy areas including sustainable finance and investment, trustee governance and standards, and consolidation of pension schemes.

Amanda is a non-actuary member of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries Sustainability Board, advising the profession on policy and regulation of environmental and social issues. She is also a member of the CFA Institute ESG Technical Committee. Amanda is a charity trustee and currently holds the Vice Chair role on the board of Age UK in Sussex - using her time and expertise to support the community.

Alice Evans, Responsible Investment Strategist (Social), Columbia Threadneedle
Alice Evans is a strategist in the Responsible Investment team, leading on the approach to Social issues across investment and stewardship. She joined Columbia Threadneedle through the acquisition of BMO GAM (EMEA) in 2021, having previously been with BMO since 2010. Between 2018 and 2022 Alice was Co-Head of Responsible Investment, focusing on Active Ownership and ESG Integration, and from 2010 to 2016 she was a fund manager in Responsible Global Equities.
Prior to joining the group, Alice gained ten years of investment experience, initially at JP Morgan Asset Management then at Henderson Global Investors, as a fund manager on the Sustainable & Responsible Investment funds and a healthcare sector analyst. Alice holds an MSci in Physics from the University of Bristol and is a CFA Charterholder.

Sarah Forster, CEO and co-Founder, The Good Economy (TGE)
Sarah Forster is CEO and co-Founder of The Good Economy (TGE), a leading, independent social impact advisory firm. From strategy development to verification, TGE helps organisations to define, measure, evaluate, report and verify their impact. TGE is also leading work to scale-up institutional investment for place-based impact by catalysing the development of devolved, place-based approaches to impact investing through greater alignment and collaboration between asset owners, asset managers, local governments and other local stakeholders.

Sarah brings over 25 years’ experience in the fields of sustainable development, impact investing and impact measurement and management. Prior to establishing TGE, Sarah held senior positions at the World Bank, the New Economics Foundation and Big Issue Invest.

Nabylah Abo Dehman, Head of Stewardship, Social Issues and Human Rights
Nabylah joined the PRI in 2017, where she focused on social issues as part of the ESG team for four years before joining the Stewardship team in 2021 as Head of Stewardship, Social Issues and Human Rights. At the PRI, Nabylah supports investors’ efforts to address social issues and is responsible for overseeing Advance, the PRI collaborative stewardship initiative on human rights.
Prior to joining the PRI, Nabylah completed her PhD in Political Science at Sapienza University.

Lord Callanan, DENEZ minister for Energy Efficiency and Green Finance
Lord Callanan was appointed Parliamentary Under Secretary of State (Minister for Energy Efficiency and Green Finance) at the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero on 7 February 2023.

He was previously Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy from 14 February 2020 to 7 February 2023, and Minister of State at the Department for Exiting the European Union from 27 October 2017 to 31 January 2020.

Jessica Hodges, Partner – Investment Management and Wealth ESG Lead, Deloitte LLP
Jessica is a Partner within Deloitte’s Audit and Assurance business where she leads the Investment Management Assurance practice. She is an Investment Management and Private Equity specialist with a background in Audits, and for a number of years has led the Family Office Audit and Assurance business. In 2022, Jessica also took on the role of IM&W ESG lead across the entire practice.

She has spent 17 years at Deloitte focussing on the Investment Management sector where she started in the audit practice, setting up the family office audit and assurance team before moving into a 50/50 audit and assurance role and taking over the leadership of the Investment Management assurance team where she specialises in controls and operations assurance. Jessica works across the whole Investment Management sector, including large listed businesses as well as large private asset managers – including PE houses, Family Offices, Sovereign Wealth Funds and Endowment Funds. Jessica is passionate about the ESG agenda, and in 2022 took on the role as UK IM&W ESG lead. She leads a cross service line industry team responsible for leading on external and internal eminence for IM&W ESG and supporting our IM&W clients to navigate their ESG journey’s. She also sits on the firms Sustainable Finance Board, as well as representing the UK firm for IM&W in EMEA and NSE.

Isha Gupta, Manager - EMEA Centre for Regulatory Strategy, Deloitte LLP
Isha is a Manager at the Centre for Regulatory Strategy, and focuses on Investment Management. Prior to Deloitte she worked in the in-house Compliance team of a wealth manager for 4 years and has done the CISI Investment Compliance Diploma. She holds an Economics degree from the University of Edinburgh and has done the Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course qualifications.

Robert Griffiths, Partner - Disputes, Deloitte LLP
Robert is a Disputes Lawyer in the Deloitte Legal team in London. He specialises in resolving English Law disputes, either in the Courts of England and Wales or in London-seated arbitrations.

He has particular expertise in resolving complex and valuable commercial disputes where technology is at the heart of the claim, and providing litigation and risk advisory services to clients within Deloitte Legal.

Robert regularly acts on disputes relating to complex commercial contracts, negligence, M&A transactions, recovery of assets, breach of confidence, trade secrets, and data privacy, and preparing clients for the growth of data privacy class actions against technology businesses.

Sonali Siriwardena, Partner & Global Head of ESG, Simmons & Simmons
Sonali leads the firm’s advisory offering on environmental, social and governance (ESG) matters.

Sonali has significant experience in the complex legal and policy landscape governing ESG. She has expertise advising on ESG matters in a multi-jurisdictional setting and helping assess the application of ESG regulations to companies with global footprints.

Having worked within industry, Sonali has a good understanding of how clients can apply ESG-focused regulatory and policy developments to mitigate risks and leverage business opportunities. Her focus is on enabling clients to navigate the ESG sea change in a proactive and productive manner.

She has current and previous experience in leadership positions in several ESG-focused industry bodies and is an active contributor to ESG-policy discussions. Amongst other commitments, she is a member of the ESG Advisory Committee convened by the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) to help further develop the ESG regulatory landscape in the UK. Sonali is also a member of the City of London Law Society ESG Committee.

As Global head of ESG, Sonali is responsible for developing and driving the firm’s ESG strategy across all practice areas and offices, to deliver market leading ESG advice to clients across all matters.

Elena Arveras, Team Leader, DG FISMA - The European Commission
Elena Arveras has been working at DG FISMA at the European Commission since the publication of the Commission’s Action Plan on Sustainable Finance in 2018. Her field of expertise has been sustainability reporting, working in different policymaking initiatives such as the revision of the Non-financial Reporting Directive and the recently adopted Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive. Since mid-2022, she is responsible for all work related to the SFDR, including the ongoing assessment of its implementation. She started her career in the banking and consumer goods industry in Germany, working in management controlling and treasury. She studied Law and Business Administration at Universidad Pontificia Comillas (Madrid), including abroad studies in Georg August University Gottingen and WU Wien.

Louisa Chender, Technical Specialist, Financial Conduct Authority
Louisa is a Technical Specialist in the FCA’s ESG Policy team where she mainly focuses on sustainability disclosures. This includes the introduction of the Sustainability Disclosure Requirements and investment labelling regime and climate-related disclosure rules for asset managers and FCA-regulated asset owners. She also works closely with IOSCO’s Sustainable Finance Taskforce, supporting work on corporate sustainability disclosures and assurance.

Jeanne Stampe, Specialist Leader (Sustainable Finance Disclosures), Monetary Authority of Singapore
Jeanne is the Specialist Leader for Sustainable Finance Disclosures at the Monetary Authority of Singapore, focusing on sustainable finance regulations and supervision. She contributes actively to international sustainable finance policy reform through the IOSCO, BCBS, IAIS, NGFS platforms for central banks, prudential supervisors and securities regulators. Jeanne is a Senior Fellow at the SOAS University of London Centre for Sustainable Finance, which is part of the International Network for Sustainable Financial Policy Insights, Research and Exchange (INSPIRE) research network. She has co-authored or contributed to multiple publications on sustainable finance. Between 2011 and 2020, Jeanne was Head of Asia Sustainable Finance at WWF Asia. Jeanne created and led WWF’s Asia Sustainable Finance Programme and was part of the Global Finance Practice leadership team. Jeanne helmed advocacy, advisory and capacity building efforts for financial institutions across Asia. She worked with ASEAN banking supervisors to support the development of their sustainable banking guidelines. From 1997 to 2011, she worked in private equity and investment banking in London, New York, Stockholm and Singapore. Jeanne holds a BA (Hons) and MA (Cantab) in Economics from Cambridge University.

Michael Khalil, Senior Counsel, Securities and Exchange Commission
Michael is a Senior Counsel in the Investment Company Regulation Office in the SEC’s Division of Investment Management, where he works on rulemaking projects focused on Investment Company Act regulations, including the proposed rulemaking to enhance disclosures by certain investment advisers and investment companies about ESG investment practices. Before joining the SEC, Michael was a Litigation Counsel with the US Department of Labor, where he was responsible for overseeing a portfolio of ERISA litigation, including the Department’s response to challenges to its rulemaking elaborating on when ERISA’s fiduciary standards allow plan fiduciaries to consider ESG issues in making investment decisions. Michael also spent a significant amount of time in private practice, most recently as a Member at Miller & Chevalier Chartered in Washington DC. He received a B.A. from Gettysburg College and a J.D. from the University of Michigan.

Miranda Seath, Director of Market Insight & Fund Sectors, The Investment Association
Miranda leads the team analysing data and trends in UK investment management, producing evidence-based insight to support the IA’s policy agenda. The division provides insight to members and external stakeholders through the Investment Management Survey, retail funds market commentary and investor research. Miranda is also responsible for the IA Sectors, the fund classification scheme designed to help UK investors navigate the retail fund universe.

Miranda joined the IA in May 2019. Before joining, she was Research Director at Platforum and NextWealth, research and consulting firms focused on retail investment distribution.

Sarah Shehabi, Market Insight Manager, The Investment Association
Sarah is a member of the Market Insight & Fund Sectors division, delivering research and analysis to support the IA’s policy agenda. She leads on a number of the IA’s flagship reports including the Investment Management Survey and the Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Survey, and also provides support on the IA’s investor research projects. Sarah has also provided analysis in a number of policy areas including sustainable investment, costs & charges and fund liquidity.

Andrew Ninian, Director of Stewardship, Risk and Tax, The Investment Association
Andrew is responsible for representing The Investment Association members interests as institutional investors on stewardship and corporate governance matters. Andrew also has executive team responsibility for the IA’s Risk and Tax Unit focussing on business risks affecting member firms.

Andrew is responsible for working with members to set the IA guidelines for investee companies and has oversight of The IA's voting research service IVIS, including company consultation and engagement. Andrew also oversees the IA’s work on helping to improve member practices on stewardship and policy development on stewardship and corporate governance matters. Andrew joined The Investment Association in June 2014, through merger of the Investment Affairs division of the ABI with the IMA. Andrew read Economics at the University of Bath.

Andrew is a member of the FTSE Russell Policy Advisory Board and the Advisory Panel to the FTSE Women Leaders Review.

Ingrid Holmes, Executive Director, Green Finance Institute
Ingrid Holmes is the Executive Director of the Green Finance Institute. Ingrid was previously a Director and Head of Policy and Advocacy at Federated Hermes International. She was also the firm’s climate change coordinator. She has over 15 years of experience working on environmental policy and sustainable finance issues. Prior to joining Hermes Ingrid was a Director at climate change think tank E3G, leading a range of global initiatives on sustainable and inclusive finance. She has also held positions at the low carbon asset manager Climate Change Capital; been an energy and environment adviser in the UK Parliament; and adviser at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. Prior to that she had a career in science publishing and journalism.

Ingrid has held a number of UK and EU advisory roles including Member of the UK Green Finance Initiative (2016/2018), Member of the European Commission’s High Level Expert Group on Sustainable Finance (2017/2018) and ran the Secretariat for the Green Finance Taskforce (2017/2018). During the period 2019/2021 she was Vice Chair of the Disclosures Working Group within the UK Prudential Regulation Authority/Financial Conduct Authority Climate Financial Risk Forum and Co-Chair of the Investment Association’s Climate Change Working Group. She is currently a Member of the Lloyd’s ESG Advisory Group, acting as an independent expert on climate change.

Ingrid has a BSc in Biological Sciences (Hons Zoology) from the University of Edinburgh and an MSc/DIC in Environmental Technology from Imperial College London. Her BSc thesis was published in Genetical Research (Cambs) and she was awarded the Kathleen Lacy Prize for ranking first in her MSc specialism (Pollution Management).

Matthew Guest, Partner, Consulting, Deloitte LLP
Matthew leads Innovation and Ventures for Deloitte Consulting globally. He helps executives in a range of industries position their organisations for growth in the Digital Economy. His team works with clients to develop long term strategies, redefine industries to restart fast growth and defend themselves against disruption. His practice is expert in the application of machine learning technologies and growth hacking and Lean Start-up ways of working within major corporates.

Renata Kostrzewa, Head of Responsible Investment, BP Pension Fund
Renata is a Head of Responsible Investment at the BP Pension Fund. In 2018 she joined the Fund’s internal asset manager, BP Investment Management, to establish investment risk framework, oversee listed equities research management and execution, and progress BPIM’s ESG integration and stewardship activities. Given rapid development in the ESG space, and increased regulatory requirements, Renata moved to the BP Pension Trustee team to lead the newly established function dedicated to responsible investment and the integration of climate change across all Fund’s investments. Prior to joining BP Pension Fund, Renata worked at Goldman Sachs, in both London and New York, covering market risk management and analysis across various portfolios in the firm’s Fixed Income and Equities businesses, as well as GS Asset Management. Renata holds a Master of Arts in Mathematics of Finance from Columbia University, New York and is currently a co-chair of the UK Asset Owner Council.

Nick Molho, Head of Climate Policy, Aviva Investors
Nick is responsible for developing Aviva Investors’ public policy positions across key sectors of the economy to accelerate the transition to net zero emissions. He aims to drive public policy change that will unlock low carbon investment across all sectors of the economy, thereby facilitating Aviva Investors’ gathering of green assets as well as supporting the UK’s and other countries’ transitions to net zero emissions. Nick also regularly feeds climate and net zero policy insights to investment and ESG colleagues across Aviva Investors.

Prior to joining Aviva Investors, Nick was Executive Director at Aldersgate Group where he was responsible for the overall management of the organisation and overseeing a diverse policy programme capturing the net zero transition across multiple sectors of the economy, resource efficiency, nature restoration, green finance, low carbon skills and trade policy. Before that, Nick was Head of Climate and Energy Policy at WWF-UK and Energy and Environmental Law Solicitor at CMS.

He holds a first class NLLB in English Law & German Law from the University of Kent and a postgraduate diploma in Legal Practice with Commendation from Oxford Institute of Legal Practice. Nick qualified as a soliictor for England and Wales in 2006.

Camille Blackburn, Director Wholesale Buy-Side, Financial Conduct Authority
Camille is the FCA's Director of Wholesale Buy Side, responsible for policy, supervision and market analysis of asset management and related services. She has 20 years of experience in financial services regulation having previously held senior regulatory roles for the Central Bank of Ireland and Australian Treasury. Camille was the Leader of the Investment Banking Division of Australia's ASIC over the financial crisis of 2008. Camille has also held positions as Global Chief Compliance Officer for two large investment management groups in the UK and for a large Australian Investment Bank. She holds a Master of Laws from the LSE and Master of Commerce from the UNSW.
