The Investment Association and Kroll will collaborate on what plans to be an insightful webinar discussion focused on financial leverage, market liquidity and valuation in times of economic uncertainty. IA members will hear how to navigate some of the challenges caused by the impact of the current market volatility and economic upheaval.

  • Factoring changing market conditions (drop in liquidity level, interest rates, inflation, etc.) in valuation
  • How volatility and uncertainty can drag a portfolio and raise concerns even from regulators
  • Liquidity and excess cash management: repos, reverse repos, money market funds (MMFs), gilts, and more. How having several options don’t increase risk
  • Supra-national regulatory concerns over the impact of NBFI on liquidity and market integrity

SPEAKERS

Ryan McNelley

Ryan McNelley is a managing director in the London office of Kroll, and part of the Portfolio Valuation service line within the Alternative Asset Advisory business unit. Ryan’s clients primarily include alternative investment fund managers, including private equity and private debt fund managers, hedge fund managers, infrastructure fund managers, real estate debt fund managers, etc., in both Europe and in the U.S. The primary focus of Ryan’s work is in assisting alternative investment fund managers demonstrate top tier governance to all stakeholders, including most importantly: limited partners and regulators.  All of Ryan’s work is at the behest of the ultimate stakeholders: the limited partners to the alternative funds sector.

 

Francisco Garrido

Francisco Garrido is a director in the Alternative Asset Advisory practice, based in London. He has more than 20 years of financial and investment management experience. Francisco specializes in the analysis of business and operational risks for hedge funds, private equity funds and fund of funds. He has performed assessments on some of the largest and most complex hedge funds, private equity funds and industry counterparties and service providers, covering a wide variety of investment strategies and geographies. Francisco received his B.A. in Business Administration from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. He is a CFA Charterholder and holds a CAIA Certificate.

 

Warren Low

Warren is a director in the Compliance Consulting division at Kroll and a successful Investment Professional with extensive 'first line' Asset Management experience in Public Markets, including portfolio management, risk, due diligence, valuations, trading, best execution, financial analysis, derivatives and equity research. He has a comprehensive understanding of second & third lines of defence including Systems & Controls, Financial Crime, Financial Resilience, Governance, the New Consumer Duty, Value Assessments and Operating Risk via contemporaneous application of FCA rules and principles across industry participants. Presently, Warren is applying a combination of industry expertise and regulatory best practice in Compliance Consulting at Kroll after several years managing teams in asset management, fund supervision and alternatives at the UK's Financial Conduct Authority.
