IA Webinar: Governance and Oversight Arrangements for Investment Management

Description

Join us on 9 February for an informative webinar. As governance continues to be a paramount concern for the financial services industry, we are delighted to announce that Damla Tezcan from Deloitte will join us to provide insights drawn from recent SREP reviews and extensive governance engagements across our sector. The webinar will be split into two sections, as Damla’s session will be followed by a panel discussion.

The presentation section will cover three key areas:

  • Examine prudential governance and regulatory expectations, focusing on arrangements within the context of topics such as the Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICARA) and Wind-Down Plans (WDP). Drawing insights from recent themes observed in SREP (Supervisory Review and Evaluation Process) letters and Deloitte's wider work supporting firms with SREP matters, we will illustrate this with practical examples of expectations for Boards and Executives. This includes the imperative to self-identify issues, the closure of findings through root cause analyses as well as attestations, and the critical role of board involvement in technical topics like ICARA and WDP.
  • Explore financial and non-financial risk topics from a group-subsidiary dynamics perspective, discussing the implications for governance structures and individual accountability, particularly in the context of the Senior Managers Regime (SMR) and broader governance hotspots. Understanding these dynamics is crucial for effective oversight across group structures.
  • Focus on executive governance as a strategic enabler. We will explore how robust and commensurate executive governance acts as a strategic enabler, protecting your firm and staff, supporting efficient decision-making, and fostering strategic growth ambitions. This includes discussions on the review, rationalisation, and formalisation of executive governance frameworks, including synchronisation across board and executive governance fora.

This webinar will not be recorded.
